Stage Bands Performs At Local Primary Schools

Our Senior Band has travelled to a number of local primary schools to perform, including West Ryde, Ermington and Eastwood public schools. Despite the logistics of moving so much equipment, the students have become quite experienced at setting up and performing in different circumstances, and work together like true professionals. Our performances have been very successful and I think we enjoy them almost as much as our audiences. Again, thank you to the parents who assisted with transport.

Manly Jazz Festival

The senior stage band was invited to this years Manly Jazz Festival. This three day feast of jazz attracts not only the best of Sydney and Australian performers, but also international guests, as well as up and coming artists and it was tremendously exciting to be part of it. We performed on Sunday 5th October from 11:00 to 11:40am. Our Performance was followed by the Melbourne High School Big Band and Bands from the conservatorium of NSW and from New Zealand.

This was our last performance with current Year 12 Performers and it seemed like a fitting way to finish high school for these students who contributed so much to the Music at Marsden High School

Mayors Prayer Breakfast

Marsden High School was invited to provide the music for the annual Mayors Community Prayer Breakfast at the Ryde Council building on Friday 8th August. Despite the early hour(6:30am!!) all members of the Vocal Group Attended and impressed those present, not only with their fine singing but also with their behaviour and presentation. The Choir performed four songs as well as the leading in the hymn "Lord Of The Dance". Rachel Peachey from year 12 sang "People Get Ready" accompanied by Neini Tuipulotu on piano and Jon Reichardt on guitar. Rachel and Neini also led the singing of the Hymn "Morning Has Broken".
