TO celebrate its 50th anniversary, Marsden High School held its open day last weekend instead of on a weeknight. The change paid off, with 250 people taking part in the open day, 15 per cent more than last year and double the numbers of 2007.

Activities included drama and band performances, food and drinks served by the hospitality students, and art students showing off their skills in the dark room. The school also launched its DVD. For information go to;
